Phase 3 begins!
Leo and I started practicing breastfeeding today. He hasn’t yet reached his goal of 55 mL per feeding, but he is tolerating 30 very well, so they thought that I could start trying him on the breast. We are doing it ever other feeding, and it is going very well!
In other good news, they turned off his TPN (IV nutrition) today, so he has one less tube. This has made it so much easier to hold him. He’s also gained more weight, and is now 6 pounds, 4 ounces over his birth weight.
We had another visit from Grandma and Grandpa, so that we could get some errands done. Seems like they had a fun time!
I’ll post pictures soon, in the photo gallery. Right now, we are dealing with a small technical difficulty.

I love your updates. Happy that Leo’s making progress!
Maureen, I am so enjoying reading the updates about Leo…glad he is doing so well. I am keeping you guys in my prayers. Autumn
Yippee….He has gained more than 4 ounces if he is 6lb now! That is great news indeed. He is a real go-getter. I bet he goes home earlier than predicted. If he takes to feeding the way he has everything else!
